Can I begin working after I put in my application?

How much does your program cost?
Tuition is free. We do require that you purchase your books through the school and also pay a $20.00 registration fee per semester.
What day will I be attending school?
One must attend school 1 eight-hour day per week.  Normally, 1st year apprentices attend on Mondays, 2nd year on Tuesdays and so forth, however this could change according to a particular class needed.  A one-year curriculum is equilivant to a 27 week period.
Where will I be working?
The majority of our contractors/jobs are in the metro Atlanta area.
Do I have to quit my present job?
Yes, as soon as Local 72 can place you with one of our contractors.

Why does it take 5 years to complete your program?

Can I get credit in the program?
Everyone is required to submit the same information. Also, if your birth certificate or transcripts are in your native language, we require that you have them translated into English.
I am from another country. What if I don’t have all of my paperwork?
Yes, after applicant submits their completed application, which includes a negative drug screen test, they may apply to Local 72 as a helper while going through the application process.
You must have all of the required paperwork with you when you come in to apply.
My transcript, or birth certificate, is being mailed to me, can I go ahead and put in my application?
No, it must be an Official-Sealed high school transcript showing date of graduation. The same applies to your GED; we must have your Official test scores. If you would like to submit your college tran-script along with any certifications, we will place them in your file. This infor-mation will be seen by our Board of Trustees during your interview.
Will you accept a diploma or college transcript in lieu of a high school transcript?
If you have previous experience and/or education in the related trade, you may ask for credit only after being accepted into the program. You do this during orientation. You will then take a credit test for evaluation. This could possibly place you higher in the program and also at a higher pay scale.
